Richard - without wishing to detract in any way from what can only be described as a model day's birdwatching and recording - I have to take small issue with your estimate of the percentage of 2cy Dark-bellied Brent Geese. John Walker and Myself have aged 7575 individual DB Brents along the Lincs coast this winter( including Frampton ) and out of this total only 12.55% were 1cy/2cy. A 50% breeding success rate has never been recorded and only once in 25 years has the total surpassed 30%. Did you actually count and age every bird!?
Again - well done on a superb day's birding.

Hi Ed,
Thanks for picking that out, don't no what happened there, what I did was sampled about a 600 brents which around half were juveniles, so roughly 300 young birds estimated. I saw about 3000 birds in all throughout the day. What i should have put was Brent Goose 3000 (Out of a sample of 600, half of which consisted of juvs). Apologise for that.
