Post subject:  Thurlby GP, 19th Feb.

Nothing of great note in the gull roost, other then not many big gulls. Also many less Common Gulls.
Did note:

Little Grebe 12
Goldeneye 16
Wigeon 38
Scaup 1 m ( good bird for Thurlby )
Green Sandpiper 3
Dunlin 4

Having looked at the very poor record shots, later last night, the male Scaup type bird shows a purple sheen to its head ( not green ) and slightly to much black on its bill tip. Also head shape is incorrect. I would say its more then likely a Tufted x Pochard hybrid. Although very difficult at such range.
