A flock of up to 1500 brent have been around for the last week or so. I have not been able to get a proper look at them until today and establish the black brant situation.
There are definitely two adults and there is a third bird that probably turned up here first in 2009. It has generally been recorded as a hybrid becuase the collar does not seem to meet fully across the front - but otherwsie it looks spot on.
Also up to 15 pale -bellied brents.
The flock tends to come in on Jacksons Marsh laste morning and over the last two days has commenced feeding on the grazing marsh beyond - good views from Harveys Hide
65 great crested grebe offshore was a reserve record count - also two great northern divers went south. c60 red-throated divers
