Further to Russell's sightings from Frampton today (Sun) :

A Peregrine killed a Wigeon just before midday and decided to pluck it and eat it on a raised grassy spit in full view (@ c 60m) of us birders in the 360 Hide. It spent a good half an hour having its lunch, accompanied by a lot of camera activity in the hide.

I left Frampton at c 3.30pm after an enjoyable visit (despite the strong wind), by which time the regular 2nd winter Kumlien's Gull hadn't shown. I see that Russell hasn't mentioned it either in his list. Perhaps Simon W. can update us, as I know he was looking out for it as I left the Visitor Centre........?

Hi Freddy,

unfortunately, the Kumlien's gull did not show at all on Sunday. It was reported on Monday and Tuesday, though.

Many thanks,

Simon.

Thanks for your reply, Simon. As I had to pick up my wife in Lincoln on Sunday at 4.20, I'd left it to the very last minute at 3.30 to see the Kumlien's Gull. I'm pleased I didn't miss it by the proverbial 5 minutes.

......and re my wife....well, as I arrived at the Lincoln RV (on time) :

"There she was walking down the street
Singing do a diddy diddy dumb diddy do".

All was well - I was just in time : a relieved Mann you might say. :D

Hi,

Kumlien's gull showing very well on the scrapes this afternoon. Excellent views from the path to East Hide.

Simon.
