Location: Woodhall Spa
A brief visit to the Witham south of Kirkstead Bridge this afternoon:
Cormorant 1
Little Grebe 3
Mute Swan c10
Greylag c200
Pinkfeet 2 with the Greylags
Egyptian Goose 2 with the Greylags and Pinkfeet
Gadwall 23 (site maximum)
Wigeon 5 (never recorded before)
Goosander 13 including 8 males (site maximum)
Lapwing 2 on the river bank

Also 1 Green Sandpiper feeding in The Sewer just south of Abbey Lane

9 February highlights in the Woodhall area:

Kinema area
Treecreeper 5 - another maximum
Nuthatch - 2 birds well apart
Coal Tits feeding in deciduous trees

Triangle
Bullfinch - 3 males together feeding on dock heads
Reed Bunting - another 3 males together

River Witham south of Kirkstead Bridge
No Wigeon
Only 5 Goosander (3 males)
Pintail drake: another first for the area.
Tufted - a flock off 33 is also a site maximum.
