A few sightings from in and around Lincoln over the last two days:
Thursday 02nd - 57 Mallard on Sincil Dyke - males courtship displaying.
12 x House Sparrows feeding in rough grassy area eastern end of Tentercroft Street on bulldozed land.

Friday 03rd - South Common:
3 x cormorants over
3 x meadow pipits
2 x Mistle Thrush
1 x GSW in trees at top of the hill.

common species but nice to see in this wintry bright light.

Cheers,
Matthew.

There's nothing wrong with posting sightings of "common" species, Matthew. Rarities attract most attention but counts of the more common species are essential to monitor trends in population dynamics.
