There was a flurry of activity this morning seen from an upstairs window overlooking fields behind our house in Bracebridge Heath on the outskirts of Lincoln. Two Buzzards flying about 50 yards from the house were being mobbed by 3 Carrion Crows and all 5 birds ended up in a short straight line on a recently trimmed low field hedge. One Buzzard took his chance and flew off but the remaining Buzzard had a 10 minute standoff with the Crows edging ever closer, before he, too, took off.....hotly pursued. Buzzards are now regularly seen over these fields with far more sightings than when we moved here 10 years ago : another bird which has definitely increased in numbers over these past few years. I'm sure that a number of members especially in country areas have had higher multiple sightings of Buzzards fom the house. Freddy |

The most Buzzards i've seen at once was 11, soaring on the thermals over Hill Holt Wood two summers ago, an impressive sight. Oliver. |
