Black Bank Feeding Station: 1415 - 1625

Today took a nut feeder plus nuts, fat balls and assorted seed. As it turned out almost all the feeders already there had been filled. I put mine up and scattered the songbird mix under and around the feeders and added a few fat balls to the holder. I noticed someone had brought a seed feeder that wasn't there last week. On getting back in car the first bird to attend was the same as last week a Coalie. No shortage of assorted birds. Before arriving I'd hoped to get GSW or Nutter, managed the former :D Here is my list of sightings all seen on or close to station:

Great Tit - 9
Blue Tit - 7
Coal Tit - 2
Willow Tit - 1
LT Tit - 4
Redwing - 1
GSW - 1f
Chaffinch - 16
Dunnock - 1
Blackbird - 2m
Crow - 4
Moorhen - 4
Sprawk - 1f
Goldfinch - 2

Towards the Trent end saw Kestrel - 1, Pheasant - 3, Greylag - 38 over, Crow - 2.

1635 - 1650: Went round by B Hale and the old Butterwick road which is disected by the motorway and had RL Partridge - 4, Mute Swan - 2 and Fieldfare - 23.

Pleased I took my hot water bottle along with flask of coffee and biccys, even though I never left car other than at arrival it was a bit sharpish.

Another good day :D Certainly cannot remember last time I had a Willow Tit there, if at all.

Regards

John
