Dave - most interesting - was the YLHG really still in winter/basic plumage? Seems a bit late to me, after all they are starting to think about breeding by now in the Balearics and should be in pristine breeding/alternate plumage by now.

Hi Ed

Yes, sorry that was a typo, should have read just "adult" not "adult w", and as you say it's plumage was near perfect. Clean white head and neck. I know Thurlby and Apex are quite a way from Skeg area, but you should come over and have a look at these massive roosts, there is not enough people interested in gulls, unfortunately.
