A small tern seen fishing off Freiston yesterday, occasionally harried by black-headed gulls, was most likely a Common. After advice from JB probably too much black on nape to be Forster's. Cheers Paul |

Heard on the news last night that someone had heard a Cuckoo in Lincolnshire when they were discussing spring like weather. I think it was Alex P however they did not say it was heard in Boston. ![]() |

Seem to think I hear reports of cuckoos on the local radio every year at impossibly early times and they are invariably Collared Doves which many people seem to get confused with!! |

Extreme Lincs dates for Common Tern are currently Mar 19th-Nov 4th. I found one in Lowestoft harbour Nov 17th last year which was still there into Dec and I see that one was reported from Holme in Norfolk 27th Dec so they seem to be stretching the parameters John |
