Hykeham tip, Millenium Green, Teals Pit and Apex Pit. North Hykeham.

A vast amount of gulls, the most I've seen in recent months, here or anywhere. With pre-roost on both Teals Pit and The Millenium Lake, and the main roost on Apex. To be honest
these numbers are very conservative, there was maybe many more then this...
GBBG 700
LBBG 5
Herring Gull 1000
Yellow legged Gull 1 3rd w
Glaucous Gull 1st w ( my main reson for looking tonight, with so many in the country )
Common Gull 8000
BHG 12000
Mediterranean Gull 1 ad w

Not bad for 2 hours this afternoon - David

Hi Dave

Which water body was the Glauc Gull on please? Also was the Med in the main roost on Apex?

Cheers

Hi Grahame
The Med was in the main roost on Apex, with the Glauc on the Teals Pit with the larger gulls pre-roost. I guess they hop over to Apex after dark ?

It really was quite impressive there this afternoon, I don't think 10 avid gull watchers would have found all there was to find today? -

David. I did photograph the Glouc. But it's a poor record shot.

Thanks for the info Dave.

It's also worth looking out for Stumpy the one legged Caspian Gull in the area as well. Dean Nicholson saw him last Tuesday (3rd Jan) also on Teal Lake.

Cheers

Grahame
