After spending several hours at Alkborough yesterday with no views of the Lesser Yellowlegs there was better luck today when the bird returned for a while. The best views are obtained if it frequents the flooded fields to the left of the main track but its behaviour is totally unpredictable and it can suddenly fly off and be out of sight for long periods.
A singleTwite today feeding with a mixed flock of Yellowhammers and Reed Buntings was an unusual record for Alkborough.
