little egret 1 with a red ring on the left leg and yellow on the right
buzzard 5
marsh harrier 1
great spotted woodpecker 1
grey partridge 1
coal tit 6

Also from a very natural looking MSQ:

Little Egret rings above the knees, Red "K" & Yellow "C" and metal one on its right ankle.
2 Green Sandpiper
1 Juv Hobby
7/8 Common Buzzard together in the air over Manton
1 Kestrel
1 Treecreeper
2 Goldcrest
3 Greenshank at one time
100+ Teal
Tawny Owl heard throughout the day

Juv Peregine seen earlier by Richard Hewson
also Osprey at Bankbank at Teatime (17:30) with 3 Kestrel in its tree with it.

Interesting about the Ringed Egret. I had one at Gibralter Point a couple of weeks ago (Not your Bird) and I found out from Stuart Britton that the person to contact was a Richard Hearn at the WWT who is doing a project and is eager to get information about ringed Egrets. His e-mail address is richard.hearn@wwt.org.uk He sent me lots of info about the Gib Bird.

Just wondering, but is there any chance that you may have got the lettering on the colour rings of the Little Egret at MSQ transposed?

Its just that I had a colour ringed Little Egret just over the border in Nott's at Collingham New Workings on Sat 20th Aug with the following colour combination;

Left leg, red ring with white C (ring above knee)
Right leg, yellow ring with black K (ring above knee)

The same bird was at Whisby NP today (per D Nicholson) and it would be good to know if it is indeed the same bird as MSQ. We have never proved any link between MSQ and Whisby before although we have known of a east/west movement between the Trent and Whisby for some time now.

Just for information, red "C" yellow "K" seen at Collingham and Whisby was ringed as a nestling this year at North Somercotes by Ian Kingswood of the Mid-Lincs Ringing Group.
