Arrived at chowder ness at 6:30, during high tide with my younger brother Samuel (10) throughout the day he saw 11 new birds, which he is chuffed with ![]() In total we saw 65 species with some common birds missing. Full report in order of sighting. Ruff 21 Greenshank 2 Cormorant 4 Mute Swan 3 Greylag geese 150 + Black-headed gull 50+ Swallow 15 Coot Gadwall 18 Mallard Gret crested grebe 5 Reed Warbler 4 Moorhen 4 Magpie 9 Wood pigeon Collard dove 6 Pochard 18 Tufted duck 20 Lesser black backed gull Kingfisher 1 possibly 2 Chiffchaff 2 Blue tit 8 Long tailed tit 17 Carrion crow 5 Reed bunting 3 Water rail 1 Rook 13 Jackdaw 8 Great black-backed gull 8 Wren 6 House martin 10 Shellduck 23 Shovler 2 Linnet 2 Sand martin 7 Canada goose 11 Lapwing 75+ Redshank 2 Peregrine 1 Kestrel 2 Sparrowhawk 1 Curlew 4 Dunnock 9 House sparrow Chaffinch Great tit 9 Blackbird 7 Goldfinch 9 Greenfinch 6 Feral pigeon Grey heron 1 Black tailed Godwit 1 summer plumage Herring gull Wilow warbler 12 Pheasant 3 Pied wagtail 2 Swift 3 Starling 8 Common Whitethroat 1 Marsh harrier 1 Common gull Bullfinch 3 Yellow wagtail 3 (Barton pits) Little Grebe 5 (Barton pits) Considering we spent 8 hour around Far ings Bird such as; Bittern, Robin, Yellowhammer, Blackcap, Song thrush, Mistle thrush and Tree sparrow were missing. 70 was acchievable today which in my opinion is really good for Far ings.
