An early morning walk across the patch produced:- 2 Grey Partridges 1 Buzzard 2 Sparrowhawks 3 Water Rails, 1 seen & 2 others heard 2 Kingfishers 1 juvenile Whinchat 4 Whitethroats 1 Lesser Whitethroat c6 juvenile Willow Warblers 1 singing Chiffchaff 3 Spotted Flycatchers The heavy rain of yesterday has raised the water level at the mere from 2.485 to 2.515, an increase of 30mm |

This afternoon:- 1 Green Sandpiper in west bay at the mere. No sign of Whinchat, Warblers or Spotted Flys. |
