The pear and damson trees are full to overflowing if only I'd taken a ladder
Black Bank: 1500 - 1810
Osprey - 1 [
Rog pointed it out to me, then as it turned towards the fishing pond Steve W arrived, we all watched it hover over the pond, then it dropped out of sight and bingo it had a fish, we expected it going to it's favourite tree, but it landed in stubble and ate it's catch, I managed to get a record pic though distant. Then soon after it took off and was last seen going over the river, at which point Rog left and Steve about fifteen mins later.] That was the first time I'd seen the Osprey in this area, having missed it the years before.Peregrine - 1 [ a chap I was talking to noticed it first and asked me to confirm it which I did, it did a stoop after pigeons but missed them and went south]
Buzzard - 3
Kestrel - 2
Sedge Warbler - 1
Swallow - 2
Mallard - 7
Moorhen - 2
Gulls - c250 [ this was a different lot to the above].
Rog was already on Black Bank when I arrived, he had seen it earlier, so seeing it twice Rog was chuffed. I hadn't met SW before so it was good putting a face to a member I've sent PM's to in the past.
Once again BB proved it is a good day out for those willing to wait in the hope of seeing summat good
Kind regards
