Post subject:  Baumber Quail

Single Quail flushed at lunchtime today by myself on tractor whilst turning swaths of barley straw.

As more crops are cleared I am starting to see more coveys of Grey Partridge. Although not as productive as I reported last year it appears to have been a sucessful season in this area with most pairs rearing families with on average 6-8 juvs.

Also in the past week passage of Yellow Wagtails has built up with most groups of cattle accompanied by up to a dozen birds.
