A ringing session this morning confirmed that it's been a good breeding season for some warblers with 81 birds ringed including 35 Blackcaps, 20 Reed Warblers and 8 Whitethroats. A surprise at 6.10a.m was a flock of 12 Crossbills flying over and 3 recently fledged Sparrowhawks in an adjacent wood. Finally, a confirmed belated record of a Nuthatch found dead at Market Stainton Hall after flying into a window on Saturday 23rd July.
