A shrug of the once optomistic shoulders and a sighed, "very quiet" has been the usual response of late to the ubiquitous, "owt about?"

Yesterday this resignation of replication was sinking on a heavy heart when things started to sparkle for Mandy West. The texts arrived quicker and quicker and my phone was bouncing.

20:38 - 11 golden plover.

20:55 - little egret and little gull east.

21:01 - A very black spotted redshank drops in on Chowder.

21:05 - A 2nd little egret.

21:19 - A little egret perches in the Blow Wells for 10 minutes.

21:23 - A kingfisher on Target Pit, water rail calling from Ness.

A grande finale on a summers evening.

20 summer Icelandic Black-tails on PP and an adult summer Med Gull on the Humber tonight -- not even sure where the Quail was Andy -- I heard it from Chowder seemingly to the SE but when I moved it had gone quiet and never found it again before I had to leave --
