A bike ride down Dunsby Fen this evening produced: 10 kestrels, mainly juveniles 1 Buzzard 1 Barn Owl 2 Tawny Owls, juvenile 2 Little Owls, 1 juvenile sitting on the road which ran towards me! I picked it up and put it back in the barn where it had come from. 1 Turtle Dove The oilseed rape is now being cut so too late for a second brood of Reed Buntings but they seem to have done well with many juveniles about. In Dunsby Spotted Flycatchers are sitting on eggs, I think the first brood were unsuccessful due to cats. Turtle Doves are purring and Hobby is regularly seen. Hugh Dorrington |
