Hobby south from Rimac, just 1 singing turtle dove between Churchill lane and Rimac
3 singing grasshopper warblers and i think this years CBC will record the highest ever total of whitethroat territories , in its 34 years. regards John.

whitethroat territories on CBC 2011, 32, highest ever, 2nd highest 30, 2010 , and previous highest totals 27 in 2001, 2004 ,and 2006, lowest numbers 11, 1979 and 1985.

Ditto Whitethroat population. In SW Lincs they seem to have reached saturation point and are now attempting to nest in crops and grass margins. In Temple Wood I came across a Whitethroat family in an area of quite dense Oak/Ash woodland also occupied by the more typical denizens of this habitat; Garden Warbler, Blackcap and Chiffchaff.
