Further to a BirdGuides web report re Garganey this afternoon, I visited Whisby NP c 4.50 -6.00.
Following the web details, I soon located the drake Garganey swimming in a small pool just to the right of the Visitor Centre and seen closeby from the bank 5.00 -5.20 and later when I passed the VC again 5.45-6.00 when heavy rain was threatening.
plus incl. :

Common Sandpiper
Common Tern
Oystercatcher
Swift
Sand Martin
Nightingale singing from a thicket by the bridge over the Railway
Garden Warbler
Willow Warbler
3 Bullfinches - 2 males.

I called in again at Whisby NP this morning (c 11.00) as I was in the area visiting Maidenhead Aquatics, Whisby and the drake Garganey was still showing well. It was swimming around on the furthest 'island pools' to the right of the Visitor Centre. What a cracking little duck. :D
