An evening visit to Temple Wood to look for Woodcock and Nightingales was unsuccessful on both counts, but I was most surprised to hear a Grasshopper Warbler reeling from the middle of the wood, (Ash canopy and bramble understorey). Another was reeling just outside the wood from a more conventional fieldside ditch. It looks like it could be another good Summer for Groppers but how many will be confirmed as breeding in Lincs?
