Got a call from Dave Sat' this evening who has been tracking the movements of this magnificent raptor over the last few days. Put up from woods near Ruckland being closely followed by C.Buzzards and flew towards Burwell at 19.30 hrs. Cheers Greg |

Glad that someone else eventually got to see it today. I saw the bird from Haugham Top at about 10.35, it flew in low from the south in quite strong wind and then appeared to land in the south side of Burwell Wood. A lot of people were watching from the other side of the wood for the rest of the day so it looks as if the WTE slipped out of the back door at some point. Roy |

Yes Roy, this bird certainly likes the terrain up in the higher wolds where there are plenty of suitable habitats ie wooded parks with lakes, ponds etc and of course miles of open farmland. Its favoured area seems to be Burwell but of course such a huge bird can cover the miles very quickly ! Cheers Greg |

A local dog walker I spoke to yesterday said she had seen it 'perched' in Legbourne Wood over three weeks ago. She said that she knew it wasn't a Buzzard as she has seen Buzzards on her fathers farm, and this was much bigger! She remembers it being near the corner of the wood as she left towards Muckton (Walking on footpath?). I did not have time to investigate, hopeing it hangs about until I can get over at weekend! |

Bob, it seems to like the area very well so with a bit of luck it might hang around for a while..good luck. Cheers Greg |

There are NO wing tags on this imm bird, which suggests to me it's a central European bird, NOT from Scotland??? So, I am guessing it will be back through Lincolnshire again, sometime in the future....on its way home? I would have thought that ALL the UK birds are still being wing tagged??? Would be interested to know if this isn't the case? Andrew |

Yes i agree Andrew, most likely a wandering mainland European or northern Scandanavian bird ? The Mull WTE's are well documented and tracked by the RSPB- they even have individual names i think, i don't know how many pairs there are up in Scotland though. It may pay us another visit, lets hope so. Cheers Greg |

The immature White-tailed Eagle over East Chevington Northumberland at 4.55 p.m. has a green wing tag. Roy |
