Thanks to a phone call from Mr Drinkall about a Great-grey Shrike on the patch at Worlaby this evening and also thanks to Mel Kitchener for finding it!!(Apologies if i have got your last name wrong). The bird was watched on a couple of hawthorn bushes near to the railway crossing in the wet pasture and was observed going to roost,so hopefully will still be present in the morning. For any visitors, please don't go into the field,as there has been recent trouble with visiting photographers and the landowners. Regards Steve. |

The Shrike is still present today,in roughly the same area as yesterday, though mobile and showing well at times. It was actually found by Dave Newby yesterday at around 4pm.Also today: 1 Red Kite(Flew in from the direction of Broughton bridge and continued across the carrs onto the wolds in a north easterly direction) 1 male Wheatear Regards Steve. |

Didn't think it would be long before you commented, this bird was obviously a migrant and was not observed over breeding habitat as the bird you have just mentioned and was watched flying into the distance.Credit me with some intelligence,if it had hung around i would have submitted a confidential record, but thanks for your always helpfull comments. Steve. |

There is no need for sarcasm,Im trying to point out there is a rule in place not to put on red kites, then one is put on the next minute, stop being sarcastic(helpfull comments Etc Etc,) as you were with my crossbills Also. 1,Clarification is needed on Red kites, and--- 2, If you want to knock my records with Sarcasm please do it in a Private Message, not on the Forum!! I and everyone else can do without it. Yours, Roger. |
