Post subject:  RSPB Frampton Marsh - 18/03/11

A wander around the reserve this afternoon produced;

Chiffchaff - 2-3. One was where a Willow Warbler had been reported earlier in the day
Scaup - still a pair from Reedbed hide
Avocet - 20+
Peregrine - 2
Hen harrier - female
Twite - 10+ feeding on North Scrape
Barn owl - one in the box viewable from the nest box camera in the visitor centre
Mediterranean gull - Adult summer off Witham Mouth (on RSPB Freiston Shore reserve)
Velvet scoter - what appears to be an adult female still off Witham Mouth (for about a week now)
Red-breasted merganser - about 8 off Witham Mouth
Ruff - ca. 10
Still lots of wigeon, teal, pintail, shoveler etc on the Scrapes/Reedbed
