Further to Rob's post at 12.28 'real' time, (thanks,Rob

) and fancying some fresh sea air on such a sunny afternoon, I duly arrived in the stakeout area c 3.00pm. Beacon Way is a busy road with frequent bus services so I parked nearby in Beacon Park Drive.
The target Cotoneaster is one of the most prolifically fruiting trees I've seen this winter and looks as if it could feed a squadron of Waxwings for days. I stood in the sun opposite the berry tree by the bus stop outside No.25 Beacon Way, trying not to look too conspicuous with my ever-ready binoculars (difficult).
4 Waxwings were visiting the tree regularly on/off during my visit (c 3.00 - 3.35 pm) and between feeding raids they perched in one of the several bare-branched trees nearby. The berry tree has so much fruit and foliage that the Waxwings seemed to almost disappear within its branches. I reckon photo opportunities are quite limited, especially as they fed in the main at the back of the tree.
Regards,
Freddy
