Hi Anthony, there were three main groups of Swans around the Oil tanks the other day, two large groups fairly distant in fields to the South of the tanks and one group North of the tanks. The two groups to the South were Mute Swans and the group to the North were Whoopers.
70 Whoopers would be a very good count if confirmed.

All Mutes apart from 11 Whooper nth side of oil tanks, i have checked the other flock in question almost every day for most of the winter.

So have the smaller flock of Whoppers been In these fields all winter? What is the max you have counted in a day or has the small flock always been around the teens?

Thnaks Anthony
