Post subject:  Short-eared Owl at Swineshead Bridge

Short-eared Owl 1 on 3/3/11. Flushed from a ground settled position by passing train on the north side of the line. Colour of orange/yellowish outerwings very noticeable with dark wing tips.
My first ever Lincolnshire record away from coastal marshes.

Perhaps a long trip for you but take a trip up to Worlaby Carrs George where there were at least 5 today

That's a good record George. I haven't seen any Short-eared Owls inland in South Lincs this Winter, neither have I seen any Hen Harriers or Stonechats.
