No sign of them at 12.30. I've been checking out the Cotoneaster trees there for the last few months, on and off, hoping waxwings would find them. Not that many berries left now. Cheers Brian |

Russell, Having dipped on my Grantham Road Waxwings earlier today, and having to collect the Memsahib in Lincoln centre this afternoon, I willingly diverted en route from BBH via Monks Road. No problem locating the berry trees on the right at the sharp corner where Allenby Road begins by the large Pygott and Crone 'Homes for Sale' banner. However, my visit at 2.45 produced the same blank as Brian's at 12.30, except for a Long-tailed Tit flock moving through. BUT, the Waxwings could well have been there an hour before or an hour later......as we know their visits are ever unpredictable ; and as for you this morning, and as for my Grantham Road Waxwings yesterday, sweet SERENDIPITY can play its part, too. Regards, Freddy PS.....Your Chambers photos of Redpoll and Siskin (27th Feb) led me to a successful visit yesterday. Thanks ![]() |

And I looked there yesterday as I drove past as this was where I saw my first ones three or four years ago |
