did my second webs count yesterday and i am almost to ashamed to put them on. my area was almost completely devoid of birds having just 18 species. if it wasn't for running into a late tit flock it would have been 14 species. i have 2 pig farms, a couple of small coppiced area of trees 3 farmyards and a small pond which was being coppiced the other 95% being open farmland with hardly a bush on. i can well understand this being the only unoccuppied area that was left. a lot of effort for zilch nothing, could have seen more on my garden in 2 hrs and i didn't think that worth doing species wise, i will enter the results friday :( :(
