Judging largely by body plan thanks to a restricted view courtesy of bankside trees, I saw what I am almost certain was a bittern putting down in the reedbed at the back of the pit on the opposite side of the path from the marsh. I know they have been seen on the reserve previously and I was wondering if anyone else had seen one recently?

Excellent good to know it wasn't just my mind playing tricks on me. Will be interesting to see if any boomer is heard.
