Cold misty and windy but:

21 Whoopers (3 cygnets) and 11 Bewicks (2 cygnets) on the reed bed. 3 Bewicks flew South at 08.20 but the remaining Whoopers and Bewicks did not depart until 08.45 preceeded by much honking and whooping, so well worth arriving early. The Bewicks in particular were displaying.

Also 11 species of duck on reed bed and scrapes: 2 Scaup, 3 Pochard, 2 Goldeneye, 15 Pintail, and lots of Gadwall, Mallard, Shelduck, Shoveler, Teal, Tufted and Wigeon.

also 2 Ruff, and the usual 18 Whitefronts near the reservoir.

Cheers
