Post subject:  Grimsby Waxwings - Sun 23rd Jan

Further to recent reports, I decided to drive over to Grimsby to check out the Waxwing flock there. I arrived at the Scartho Road Swimming Pool stakeout at 11.15 this morning ( Sun ). Initially, 6 Waxwings were perched by the berry trees but the number soon rose to 21. By the time I left at 12.05, the flock had built up to 32.

Also one very vociferous and territorial Mistle Thrush and 3 Redwing. There was just one other birder there (plus digiscope) throughout my visit.

Further comments on Lincs Bird Chat in due course under "Grimsby's Silk-tail Triller".

Regards,

Freddy
