Hi the above is my local lake 5 mins from the door, I havn't in the past put any records on the forum for this lake because of not knowing if there was any restrictions with access (lake ownership) but after taking advise have been told it should be ok.

Yesterday and today 17/18th January I have had the following birds on the lake - 5 Pintails (3M & 2F), 1 Goosander, 24 Goldeneye, 12 Shoveler,4 Pochard,2 Little Grebe, 1 GC Grebe plus the usual other ducks Wigeon,Tufted,Teal,Mallard,Gadwell and upto 300 Greylags and Canada Geese. Also Redwings are in abundance 2 flocks of 34 & 16. Also lots of Gulls but nothing out of the ordinary.

Obviously the Pintails are not common in the area so wanted to share this info.

Thanks Mark

Hi Mark

An amazing underwatched lake, with possibly the best gull roost in the county.
I usually see at least one Med Gull in the roost this time of year. My best Med Gull count was 5 in one evening.
