Hi,

A chilly but gorgeous day at Frampton. It started at -7.5 degrees, then rose to the dizzy heights of -1. All the freshwater bodies were completely covered in ice.

Highlights;
Lapland bunting - At least 83 on the saltmarsh, the highest ever count for the reserve. Flocks of 36, 35 (seen at the same time) and 9 plus a few extras.
Twite - 9 on the saltmarsh
Peregrine - 1
Merlin - 1
Common buzzard - 1
Barn owl - 1
Black-tailed godwit - 6. These birds, all juveniles, were feeding as close as four metres in front of the Visitor Centre windows all day.

Cheers,

John
