Post subject:  Whisby and Apex Pits

Main lakes mostly frozen

Highlights
water rail 2 both in Pike Drain
little egret 1 in Pike Drain Apex Pits and again presumably the same bird in the drain at Whisby. It flew under the bypass via the culvert (my very first in greater Lincoln)
Gulls - thousands at Apex and Millenium Pit, As far away from a viewing point as the could be
Mallard big numbers but just the odd gadwall, tufted duck, pochard and goldeneye
tree sparrows
bullfinch
coal tit
