c1400 pink foot 18 whitefront and 14 barnacle in local oilseedrape,
was about to do a thorough count/survey when farmer arrived with dog and sent the dog to drive them off, they are being regularly chased off various fields now. also in churchill lane area 1 barn owl, c130 blackbird, c 25 redwing c 20 fieldfare, 5 siskin and 3 brambling. regards John.

looking at birds struggling for mere survival in this weather I have seen farmers shooting at Whooper Swans and chasing off geese -- human beings have no real place on this planet

Graham, at least with the moonlight and snow they can spend the nights feeding unhindered, they seem in good condition, but reluctant to fly far
no suprise in these conditions,(they were there 2030 hrs and at 0700 hrs so assume allnight) regards John.
