Up to 27 Waxwings still around Tentercroft Street carpark, occassional movements to trees by Court Buildings and rear of Co-op. Good photo opportunities as they picked berries from ground on cleared snow near bottom car park exit. Nice to meet Russell Hayes at the site.

Regards

Jim

From Boston Waxwings thread:

One problem. Winter rail services from Boston to Lincoln on Sundays are utterly dire. No service between Sleaford and Lincoln, so you have to go via a contorted, absurd route, changing at Grantham and Newark and not arrive until after sunset.

If they're still there tomorrow, can someone give me a lift?

I had good views today of over 10 whilst shopping, on the trees with red berries, front left handside of Magistrates Court. Singles kept disappearing towards Tentercroft Street I suspect.
Couple of images blogged.
Cheers

22 Waxwings still present late this morning in the trees adjacent to the Magistrates court and behind the Sony centre on the High street.

5 outside Macdonalds at the Carlton Centre 10a.m. today eating frozen rowan berries which didn't look very appetising, but were presumably far more acceptable than anything in the shop. Cheers. Rick

I saw 14 Waxwings at 11.30 today (Thu). They were perched on the aerial above the Sony Centre next to the Magistrates Courts on the High Street, occasionally flying down to the red berry tree below.....competing with 4 or 5 Blackbirds and 2 Mistle Thrushes.

Nice to meet up with David Cohen again. He recently returned from Gambia to snowy Lincolnshire - now, that's what I call a real example of climate change.

Regards,

Freddy
