An excellent day for visible migration with many finches etc moving south. highlights of passage below - v approx counts for now;

chaffinch 250
siskin 200
greenginch 80
goldfinch 60
redpoll 20
brambling 15
reed bunting 8
rock pipit 20
meadow pipit 10
Lapland bunting 14
waxwing 18
snow bunting
shorelark 6
twite
whooper swan 8
fieldfare 18
gt spotted woodpecker
bullfinch 2
tree sparrow 30
house sparrow 3
skylark 55
woodpigeon 800
Also, a firecrest, black redstart, several woodcock (including one off the sea) and 2 blackcap

I think that there were a few more shore larks than 6 Kev. Probably a dozen around Greenshank Creek
Perhaps not part of the migration but for completeness of picture on a good day
A pair of stonechat in the same area
1 short eared owl
a peregrine
merlin
2 sparrowhawks
2 red throated divers
50 common scoter
500 pink foot
500 brent geese

Hi Chris

Thanks for the update, it seems there was up to 15 shorelark about yesterday.

Today;
Firecrest still around Beach Car Park
Lap bunting - flock of 11 south and a possible flock of 7 more.
Waxwing 24 south
Lower numbers of migrants moving south than yesterday
