The Bittern is back again at Boultham mere, this afternoon it showed well for about 4 minutes in cutting 1 before disappearing back into the reeds. Also 1 Jack Snipe flew in and landed in the edge of the reeds where it stayed for a few minutes before taking off again, flying round the mere and going off to the south. The Jack Snipe was my 126th bird for the patch this year. With Rob Carr. |

The Bittern again showed very well in cutting 1 late morning (24th), it was in view for over 30 minutes. Also on the patch today:- 4 Grey Partridges 7 Cormorants 1 Common Buzzard 4 Skylarks 22 Fieldfares |
