rough counts Crook Bank to Sea View including part of saltmarsh redwing 500 song thrush 300 goldcrest 250 chaffinch 600 brambling 100 siskin 140, meadow pipit 280 crow 170 inc i hooded starling 700 blackbird 80 snow bunting 3 lapland bunting 7 redstart 2, ring ouzel 5 firecrest 1 chiffy 6 yellow browed 1 peregrine 1 merlin 1 . regards John. |

similar area covered today with Nick Tribe and Ian Butterfield, lower numbers of finches and thrushes today, but plenty of robins and crests ( hundreds), also seen 2 jays south 2 whinchat,2 stonechat,2 redstart, 1 pied flycatcher, 3 blackcap, 1 wheatear, 9 chiffys, 2 sparrowhawk, didn,t walk the saltmarsh. regards John. |
