I was at Mablethorpe from 0915 to 1300 hrs joined by Nick Tribe at 1045 hrs . As Edmund states it was difficut watching conditions with the frequent squalls howling through on northerlies gusting to 50 mph. About half th c 200 skuas we saw were distant and difficult to id but recorded 1 flock of 17 poms several groups of 5 to 8 bonxies and about 40 arctics and 1 long tailed, also a probable sabines struggling low and northwards several flocks of teal wigeon and 8 pintail, but didn,t see any shearwaters !, gannets started moving southwards about 1100 hrs. ( often a 30x scope was to much 20x would have been better but didn,t have one) Took time out at 1200 to 1230 for tea and a plate of chips as temperature was about 11oc and a serious windchill. regards John.
