Although it was struggle and thank goodness for all the bench seats at MSQ I managed to do the WeBS and [watch the wildlife] for the first time since May on a sunny and dry day between 14.10 and 18.10.

Highlight has to be the Osprey [only my second one in twelve years] which I spotted over the eastern edge of the Duck Lake at 17.00, it didn't dive for any fish, it hung about for about five minutes and flew towards Holme. In the log book it had been seen at 14.00 catching fish at the Grebe Lake, only minutes before I got there.
Here is the full list of sightings:

Mute Swan - 24, Moorhen - 8, Swallow - 1, Willow Tit - 1, Mallard - 38, Coot - 11, Gadwall - 34, Snipe - 9, Canadas - 4, Greylags - 152, Buzzard - 1, Tawny Owl - 1 [heard], Grey Heron - 1, Pied Wag - 4, Teal - 4, Black-headed Gull - 26, Great Tit - 1, Chaffinch - 1, Blue Tit - 4, Common Gull - 9, LBB Gull - 1, Cormorant - 1, Goldcrest - 2, Chiffchaff - 1, Green Woodpecker - 1, Lapwing - 2.

Fully enjoyed getting out in the fresh air although it was certainly not easy.

Kind regards

John :D

Another day out but had company this time. Not so much on the bird front but certainly on the butterfly front.

Black Bank:

Kestrel - 1, Kingfisher - 1, Mipit - 2.

Keb Wood:

Buzzard - 1, Jay - 1.

Several Kestrel seen in different locations. No shortage of road kill wildlife including pheasants, rabbits, Squirrel etc

John
