The Wilsons Phalarope was not present on Fenland Lagoon during my visit this evening, until it was too dark to see, although it had been well watched earlier. |

Found by Rob Watson around 1845 this evening - a first winter bird - after a couple of flights, it flew south over the bank and out of sight. It may not have gone far - the saltmasrh south pof the lagoon is well flooded after the recent high tides. A juv pec sand that had been found this morning, also returned to the Fenland Lagoon this evening. Cheers Kev |

The Wilson's Phalarope was still there this morning on the Fenland Lagoon at the east end from around 8.30 when it flew in till 10.30 when it flew off and was relocated on Tennyson Sands. It was still at tennyson when I left at midday. The Pec was senn briefly early on, on Fenland lagoon, also 5 Greenshank there, Kingfisher and a Hobby and Sparrowhawk over. A quick walk round revealed 3 Goldcrest,1 Willow warbler,2 Wheatear and 1 Whimbrel in the East Dunes and around 25 Eider on the high tide roost on the beach. 2 Spoonbills on Jackson Marsh and well over 100 Black tailed Godwits on Tennyson plus 1 Ruff, 1 Little Stint and 1 Avocet. |

The phalarope was showing on Tennysons Sands from Harveys hide until 13:50 when it flew off towards Jacksons Marsh. It couldn't be relocated while I was there but there were more places for it to be hidden from view The two spoonbills flew off towards the haven about 14:00 Great Spotted Woodpecker in the Plantation |

We eventually caught up with the Phalarope at about 17h00 thanks to a phone call from Barry Clarkson and Mike Tarrant. It was seen from Harvey's hide again. After about 30 minutes it flew off, in the direction of Fenland lagoon. Robert and Alastair Carr |

Spent a long morning in the East Hide - Fenland Lagoon, this morning (16th Sept) with NO joy.....  The Wilson's appears to have move on.Nice to chat with everyone present this morning.... Little Stint and 86 Black-tailed Godwits present on Tennyson's Sands Andrew (who should have gone yesterday!) |
