You should get up earlier Terry. John and I saw it well and were on our way home before you got there. Better luck next time. |

i could try for further info if required, the observer was sue hayes and was told yacht club area, she did not know what it was at first just that she had not seen one before. she normally gives me a ring if she is in doubt about anything but as i said i was brown flycatchering and failed in that regard and probably saw the same redstart garden warbler and whitethroat that you had. she later picked it out of the fieldguide, it is only 4 miles across the pond from spurn where there was 4/5 birds over the wkend. if the recorder or anyone wants a descriptive record i will show her what to do. she as birded the fitties area for many years and previously seen wryneck red back shrike there but has never sent any records in so if required i will do my bit ![]() terry whalin ![]() ![]() |

Re Graham's comments above, can I point out that in the last few days Barry Clarkson has found a Greenish Warbler at Saltfleet Haven and Barred Warbler and Red breasted Fly at Stonebridge all through alot of hard work and effort on his local part of the Lincs coast. Its amazing how patchy these falls of birds are, if we could better understand why and predict where they will occur life would be alot easier! Also it was good to see so many people around yesterday afternoon. |

i now have the details of the rosefinch, it sounds promising, having doubts about posting it because i have not seen it myself but if the clubs rarities people want me to post the details i will do so, it seems a shame for a good record that might go unrecorded. people can pick the lumps out of it and form a judgement afterwards, some guidence on the issue without the usual snearing comments would be helpful, ![]() ![]() terry whalin ![]() ![]() |
