At least 9 Spotted Flycatchers around the birches on the dry heath at Linwood Warren this morning.

Further to Stuart's post, I visited Linwood Warren early afternoon today (Sun). After passing the time of day with some half dozen LWT volunteers doing maintenance work around the entrance area, I moved on to the dry heath with its birches but didn't manage to see any Spotted Flycatchers. However, through the wood towards the pond (westwards) there was a large open area with 4 or 5 Spotted Flycatchers feeding higher up among the scattered trees and some Willowchiffs flitting around below.

Regards,

Freddy (with son Alex)
