Hi All
Having had bad views of this bird, two things really why is it a Semi P and could it not be a Red Necked Stint???, maybe its just Grahams pics but the wing bar really stands out, and the only in flight pics i have on Semi p you can just make out the wing bar but on Red Neck it stands out well, having no expereince of either i would just like to know.

Its a good question, but i would expect a Red-necked to show shorter legs, a more attenuated rear end, some rufous bases to the retained breeding scapulars, a shorter slimmer (more Little Stint-like) bill and, most importantly, no webbing between the middle and outer toes. I think this is just visible in a couple of Roy's videograbs. I don't think the wingbar is out of the range of Semi-p, and perhaps moult makes it look wider than normal??
