Post subject: | South Forty Foot Drain Helpringham Fen |
Two TTVs along the South Forty Foot Drain this morning produced a total of 51 species. Highlights: Common Tern and Gadwall on the drain, Great Crested Grebe on nest with 2 eggs. Hawthorn scrub with light cattle grazing along the banks had several groups of newly fledged Willow Warblers (a rare bird in the South Lincs fens) and a pair of Turtle Doves. Hugh Dorrington |
