Superb views of Hobby hawking dragonflies, mainly Black-tailed Skimmers, over Boultham mere, occasionally perching in willow trees on N bank of mere. Watched for over an hour. Presumably the same bird, seen half an hour later, chasing hirundines over the field in front of my house. |

Interesting Andy - this afternoon whilst working in the garden a Hobby took one of my recently fledged Swallows only about 10 metres from where I was gardening. Incredibly fast and almost impossible to follow - lots of Swallow alarms as well!! Don't know where it's breeding though. |
